Holidays and plans

So I am holiday this weekend that mainly involves cider animals and a large tent.

No it's not some drunken circus act I am away on safari getaway weekend which has tours and a bar along with glorious sunshine :)

Hobby wise I have continued working on my heresy space wolves thanks to the addition of stormclaw providing a praetor and 5 terminators

Looking forward to the releases next week as I am thinking the new flying transport would make a good assault ram.

Coming soon nids :)

Bye

Wolsung steampunk love

If there is one thing I like its Steampunk its why I dabble in Malifaux. now finally after a couple of years Micro Art Studio have gotten ducks in a row and started planning a bigger release schedule for Wolsung

They have launched a kickstarter and as at typing it has 12 days to go

Originally just the three factions

The lordly Ash & Oak Club made up of human and elven nobility.

The second faction is the Invetors Club made up of anyone with a deep thought and creative brain.

Finally the Triad of Lotus Dragon a den of thieves and villains from the east looking to subvert that which they could not conquer.

The game is free flowing with heroes and sidekicks doing daring dos and epic stunts it uses D6 as a base system but also a deck of cards to steal initiative, do stunts and cast magic.

Beasts of war have done some intro videos to help understand the game. Vid 1 Vid 2

The Rules are available for free on the website here

Wolsung is set in simplest terms an advanced fantasy world somewhat akin to Lord of the Rings crossed with Jules Verne

in addition to the skirmish game there is a roleplaying game available too so can fulfil both itches for those so inclined

I do recommend people check out the Kickstarter as it is looking to add two new factions an dark mystical undead faction and the awesome Halfling gangsters with a touch of Cthulhu.

They have hit the funding goal and are just opening up stretch goals.

thanks

Ishi.

Cleaning house, board games and other things

I have been cleaning the house and with it the man cave.  I am cleaning out the minis game I have and reducing down to just Bolt Action and warhammer 40k with the advanced heroquest and some other board games.

Also I am looking at another kickstarter https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1008762441/wolsung-steampunk-skirmish-game-expansion it looks great and the scenery could work for Malifaux too

The biggest thing that's going on is I am clearing out any mini game I don't play anymore so will look to post some stuff in the next week or so.

Heroes of the Solar System and The Iady

So Prodos Games have released the pdf for their hero creator one of the best tools in a wargame in my opinion.

The document allows you to create a hero for your faction amend his stats even give him equipment to fit a section that he was in like heavy infantry or airborne.

Download Link

also included is a series of pre-made characters to add to the list in the main rulebook including the Capitolian faction's Iron Lady. A medic who previously disgusted with the deaths of a thousand soldiers due to Imperial gas attacks turned up on a heavy infantry attack to lead them to victory.

This bit of fluff is a cross reference to the piece in the main rulebook that i am referenced in.

My friend did a huge thing for me and had my likeness commissioned into a piece of art which also features the Iron Lady and Brigadier P Rist.

So now issues set in this is of the one best games I have played and has amazing miniatures i just need to paint up the factions i have already so I can get some Capitolians.

A new meaning to WAAC

A friend pointed this out to me and i thought what a great concept

http://minimusingofabear.wordpress.com/2014/05/15/beared-itorial-waac-is-coming

Now i have had a fair number of run-ins with the little c it took both my grandparents and left my mother disabled so anything i can do to help the good fight i will jump on board for.

My friend has already spoken to the Club and the local store so i know things are afoot but i do not know any details yet.

Trust me i will post them here as soon as i know!

Doubles tournament

This last Saturday was the sluggaz doubles tournament which was great fun and my first 40k tournament

A huge thank you to all my opponents you were all awesome and to the tourney organisers

I am not going to post names as there are a couple I cannot remember which is not surprising when you add 10 hours gaming to a bad cold.

Game 1 vs tau and dark angels straight objectives

This was a disaster of a game tactic wise the pods went exactly where we wanted but failed to do much upon arrival and the drone squad with suit commander was disgusting in firepower ways.
In the end we were pretty much tabled.

Game 2 Eldar/guard - big guns never tire

Tanks and a wraithknight scared us quite a bit but we managed to hold on to a couple of objectives and snag the win.

Game 3 sisters of battle/guard - six random objectives

This was an awesome game and probably my favourite of the tourney especially as everything seemed to go badly for us with the drop pod scattering off the table and ending up in our deployment zone. It all came down to holding objectives and we managed to hold some of the objectives and so did our opponents meaning a draw.

Game 4 eldar/dark eldar - purge the alien

This was probably the hardest fought and fun game wraithguard and grotesques ripped through our ranks and it was just one big melee by the end which we luckily won.
So first tournament and a hard fought 2 wins and a draw

Pics are from the first game before phone battery got low
