Decisions Decisionsi

So following on from my previous post I have come to the decision that space is at a premium so I cannot focus on as many games as I would like and therefore am going to drop down to 3-4 games instead of 6+

So I am thinking of comparative gaming styles and whilst these are not identical they are similar.

40K vs Warzone. - both are squad based games and whilst one is considered a skirmish game and the other a mass battle game they have similar force sizes. Now I love the fluff of 40K and the sculpts are lovely but the prices are over the top and i am not a huge fan of the game play. so I will be focusing on Warzone as i really have gone in on the KS and the guys behind it are great and involved in the community.

Malifaux vs Deadzone - Again Deadzone i have gone in on the KS and played in the beta and it is a great fun game but so is Malifaux Whilst the theme of Mali with the steam-punk wild west horror is very cool the simple nature of Deadzone wins out.

Star Trek Attack Wing and Dropzone Commander - These are very different games and i am thinking can i not do both but time is the issue and the star trek game is great fun but the minis are poor so they need repaints. and i already own all the currently released Star trek mins so its definitely

So my new plan is Warzone, Deadzone and Star Trek Attack Wing.

and i will hopefully be having some details on Warzone next week.

I need Space.....

So last week i mentioned all the games i am getting into which is awesome i love new toys

however i am starting to feel like this

So im  my reportoire of mini and games i have the following (not a complete list)

All this and more in a room that is only just big enough for my paint table

So i may need to clear out some of these and as much as i would like to keep the eldar i think i may need to except that i only need 1 army for 40K especially considering the likelyhood of skipping a lot of it in 2014 and focusing on other games.

so anyone else have a storage issue.

Catching up

Hi all I have been gone a while and have been dabbling in you tube which I plan to continue and combine with the blog.

I thought I would write a little update on what I have been doing.

On the 40k front I have been working on my nurgle demons and started an eldar force.

Other than that I picked up Star Trek attack wing which is cool and I plan on playing in a local league.

Warzone is due in the next few weeks they are just waiting on the printers to finish the books and cards.

Around Christmas mantic should be shipping deadzone their sci-fi skirmish game which is amazing.

And finally after chatting to some guys at the club I will be getting involved with dropzone commander.

Well that's it for now I hope to post later in the week with a review of attack wing.

Update

So another week over and with limited hobby time I did get some bits done.

I converted a hellbrute to be my death company dreadnought, and started work on the other 2 men for my squad.

I got a game in on Saturday a king of the hill style game which was silly fun and then got in some x-wing.

I also finally painted my mdf dreadball board in my forgeborn fighters colours.

So with warzone due next month, the tale of gamers force and my dreadball teams should I get into x-wing too?

Grumpy old Wargamer Con - Warzone, Mutant Chronicles!

Wow it was an amazing day i played two games of Warzone and i also played a demo of the Mutant Chronicles RPG

The venue is quite small though there is work going on to expand the area but if i am honest i actually preferred it compared to the likes of Salute.

Whilst my highlight of the day was getting my own over sized necromutant but i also got interviewed by Templarscrusade01 so i may feature in a youtube vid :)

The Necromutant model given away the detail is amazing.

Grumpy Old Wargamers Con Pre post

Tale update 2nd force

So last weekend I was a bit adrift for something to paint so popped into the local Gw with a plan to pick up a dreadnought to add to my month 2.

But instead I bought a box of plague bearers and three of the plastic Hq's.

The bank holiday Monday I painted 
Most of them and thought it was a Hq and a troop choice so why not add it to a tale of force.

This weekend I added to it by making an objcetive marker and another herald.

I also pulled apart a daemon price model I have and swapped some parts out and added a little green stuff to make a nurgle daemon.

The next troop will be more plaguebearers and maybe some nurglings to round it out.
